January 31, 2004 - New Madison

It was homecoming for Tri-Village and the home team made sure the festivities were celebrated on a winning note with both the junior varsity and varsity posting wins over Randolph Southern.

This years homecoming court and couples were as follows; Chloe Shank - Josh Bailey, Mattie Burns - Brian Schlechty, Samantha Coomer - Garret Lindamood, Tabby Deaton - Kyler Burn and Beth Hunt - Nic Brant. Last year's Queen Ashley Pearson and King Aaron Holmes relinquished their crowns to this years homecoming Queen Tabby Deaton and King Josh Bailey.

The Patriots jumped out to an early 7-2 lead behind Corey Jay picking up where he left off last night scoring the first seven points. But when Jay picked up his second foul at 5:07 and went to the bench Southern jumped on top 8-7. They would extend their lead to 15-10 at 2:28... but Tri-Village would score the next 8 points to regain the lead again 18-17.

TV switched to a match up man to man trapping defense to start the second period frustrating Randolph Southern. The Patriots used a balanced offensive attack getting scoring from five different people and extended their lead at the half 33-24.

In the third period Tri-Village would dominate on the inside behind Cameron Quinn's eight points while only giving up four... and the game was getting out of reach for Southern down 50-28.

In the final stanza the Patriots were running the floor enjoying the moment with everyone getting playing time. Kyler Burns dazzled the crowd with a spectacular alley-oop pass from mid-court to a high flying Sam Lindamood finishing it on the other end. Nic Brant stole the ball from midcourt finishing with a nice finger roll to the applause of the student cheering section... and homecoming was complete as the Patriots defeated Southern 75-39.

Nine different players scored tonight for TV with four in double figures; Lindamood 17 points, Jay 16 points, nine rebounds, Quinn 12 points and Burns 10 with 5 assists.

The win puts Tri-Village at 8-8 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Tri-Village returns to action Monday February 2nd in a re-scheduled game at St. Henry.
