January 9, 2004 - New Madison
Tri-Village was coming off a loss to Fairlawn last Saturday and needed an important win tonight versus undefeated (in conference) foe National Trail to keep in the race. But, just like their first meeting the trailblazers were able to defend well and limit the Patriot opportunities... running a very disciplined offense picking apart Tri-VIllage for an easy 51-28 win.
The highlight of the feature game was Beth Hunt's National Anthem solo on her saxophone. The second highlight was senior Nic Brant who scored a basket on a tip in rebound. Nic played hard and it was good to see a kid play with heart.
The reserve game would be an exciting one with Tri-Village going for their third win in a row. With the game tied in regulation and 1.1 seconds left on the clock Coach Moore set-up a double screen for Daniel Foreman. He caught the inbound pass and arched his shot from beyond the arch and it looked like the game was over. The ball went half way down and popped back out sending the game into overtime. Overtime favored the visitors and the reserve team took a disappointing loss but played well. They were led by Ryan Snyders 25 points.
Pork Chop Charlie supper was well received and a special thanks goes out to all the volunteers and folks who came to dinner to make this a success.
The Patriots will try to rebound tomorrow evening when Northridge comes to town.
Go Patriots!
