Northridge – January 29, 2005
Tri-Village traveled to Northridge looking to keep their momentum moving forward as the head down the backstretch of the regular season into sectional play. The Patriots were able to get their third win in a row handing Northridge a 56-32 loss.

TV got on the board first as Josh Fisherback air out a 23’ shot. Cameron Quinn and Corey Jay both got back to back baskets and at 6:14 grabbed a 7-0 lead. Northridge would come back as TV missed a few free throws and committed a few turnovers and at 3:30 the lead had slipped to 10-8. The Polar Bears continued to claw their way to a tie 12-12 which warranted a timeout for Coach Sagester as his team was lacking defensive intensity. It was effective as they closed out the quarter with a 5-0 run and a 17-12 lead.

In the second period the PATS used their close range game behind Jay, Lindamood and Quinn with Josh Pipenger finishing up the scoring with a 3 and TV lead 31-20 at the half.

The Patriots moved with more intensity in the third quarter holding Northridge to 7 points while scoring 10 of their own to expand their lead to 41-27.

In the final stanza the Patriots were even more effective holding Northridge to 5 points.

Fisherback and Pipenger both dropped their second three’s of the night and with a minute and half to play TV emptied the bench getting playing time for the reserves. With 31 seconds to play Derrick Chowning would sink 1 of 2 free throws to record his first career varsity point and round out the scoring for Tri-Village who would record a 56-32 win.

The Patriots got off to a slow start defensively but got stronger as the game went along holding the home team to fewer points each quarter. They also struggled from the free throw line connecting on just 8 for 17 in the first half but improved in the second half making 4-5 and 12-22 for the game.

Jay led the Patriots in scoring with 20 with Fisherback and Lindamood contributing 11 and 10 points each.

The win improves their record to 7-9 overall and 4-3 in the conference with a big weekend next week against two league opponents. Tri-County North will pay New Madison a visit on Friday for Senior Night and the team then travels to West Alexandria to take on Twin Valley South on Saturday.

The reserve boys are also riding a 3 game win streak with a 39-32 with David Barger and Mark Wheeler scoring 8 each and Logan Brubaker contributing 7 points.
