November 2004 New Madison, Ohio
It’s a new era for Tri-Village Boys Basketball. The program is surrounded with an air of excitement and apprehension for the 2004-05 year. Gone but not forgotten is the longtime and successful Coach Lee Falknor. The ball has been passed over and entrusted to the youthful enthusiasm of Coach Josh Sagester. Joining him on the bench is his father Mick Sagester and Derek Flatter who will be handling the Junior Varsity squad.
Departing seniors from the 2003-04 team are Kyler Burns, Derek Ary, Josh Bailey and Nic Brant. Returning starters are senior Corey Jay, Cameron Quinn and junior Sam Lindamood. Joining them will be seniors Josh Pipenger, Josh Fisherback, Ryan Snyder and junior Daniel Foreman all seeing action last year. Rounding out the roster is junior Taylor Brubaker.
This years team has worked hard over the summer lifting weights and attending team camp with a few playing AAU basketball. This is a team that will be asked to work harder than they think they can and will play with a defensive mind set. With a limited bench this team will have to dig deep and remain strong down the stretch.
The 2004-05 Cross County Conference Season could be dubbed the year of change. Half of the 12 teams in the CCC have new coaches; Bradford, Bethel, Newton, National Trail, Mississinawa Valley and Tri-Village.
The battle for a Cross County Conference Crown will no doubt go through the defending champion Ansonia Tigers who return virtually the entire team and also benefited from two transfers. Covington, T.V. South and National Trail will also look to make a strong challenge. Look for the Patriots again to make a strong statement of their own and through hard work and perseverance it could be an interesting year.
Coach Sagester will bring an exciting brand of basketball to Tri-Village and is looking for strong fan support this year. Knowing the fans of Tri-Village I have no doubt about the support. So lets all get out and support our team.
GO PATRIOTS!
