November 2004 – New Madison, Ohio

It’s a new era for Tri-Village Boys Basketball. The program is surrounded with an air of excitement and apprehension for the 2004-05 year. Gone but not forgotten is the longtime and successful Coach Lee Falknor. The ball has been passed over and entrusted to the youthful enthusiasm of Coach Josh Sagester. Joining him on the bench is his father Mick Sagester and Derek Flatter who will be handling the Junior Varsity squad.

Departing seniors from the 2003-04 team are Kyler Burns, Derek Ary, Josh Bailey and Nic Brant. Returning starters are senior Corey Jay, Cameron Quinn and junior Sam Lindamood. Joining them will be seniors Josh Pipenger, Josh Fisherback, Ryan Snyder and junior Daniel Foreman all seeing action last year. Rounding out the roster is junior Taylor Brubaker.

This years team has worked hard over the summer lifting weights and attending team camp with a few playing AAU basketball. This is a team that will be asked to work harder than they think they can and will play with a defensive mind set. With a limited bench this team will have to dig deep and remain strong down the stretch.

The 2004-05 Cross County Conference Season could be dubbed the year of change. Half of the 12 teams in the CCC have new coaches; Bradford, Bethel, Newton, National Trail, Mississinawa Valley and Tri-Village.

The battle for a Cross County Conference Crown will no doubt go through the defending champion Ansonia Tigers who return virtually the entire team and also benefited from two transfers. Covington, T.V. South and National Trail will also look to make a strong challenge. Look for the Patriots again to make a strong statement of their own and through hard work and perseverance it could be an interesting year.

Coach Sagester will bring an exciting brand of basketball to Tri-Village and is looking for strong fan support this year. Knowing the fans of Tri-Village I have no doubt about the support. So lets all get out and support our team.

GO PATRIOTS!

Josh Pipenger
Grade: Senior
Number: 11
Height: 5'-9"
Position: Guard

Comments: Josh worked hard on his shooting over the summer and has an improved outside shot. He will again be asked to help handle the ball and the opposing teams pressure.

Cameron Quinn
Grade: Senior
Number: 33
Height: 6'-3"
Position: Forward

Comments: Cameron was a steady performer in the paint last year showcasing excellent post skills. He will be looked upon to provide strong rebounding and defensive intensity.

Josh Fisherback
Grade: Senior
Number: 5
Height: 6'-5"
Position: Forward

Comments: Josh had a couple of breakout games last year shooting from the outside and will be needed to provide consistent shooting from there this year. He still needs to take advantage of his height and get inside the lane and score in the paint.

Corey Jay
Grade: Senior
Number: 50
Height: 6'-6"
Position: Center

Comments: Corey led the Patriots in scoring and rebounding last year. He will be the focus of many opponents who will look to shut him down. Corey has worked hard to develop strength over the summer. For a big man he runs the floor well and is very agile with an uncanny ability to score when inside the paint. He will need to provide leadership and intensity on the floor.

Ryan Snyder
Grade: Senior
Number: 32
Height: 6’0”
Position: Forward

Comments: Ryan is a relentless worker and can get up and down the court very well. Has high intensity level and will be looked upon to provide a boost to the team when called upon. Always seems to be around the ball.

Sam Lindamood
Grade: Junior
Number: 35
Height: 6'-2"
Position: Forward

Comments: Sam has increased his vertical leap, jumping extremely well and is a strong player on the move. Handling the ball and helping break the pressure will be a new role for Sam. He has worked hard on improving his shot and will be needed to provide consistent scoring from both outside and inside.

Daniel Foreman
Grade: Junior
Number: 15
Height: 6'-0"
Position: Guard

Comments: Daniel is very athletic and an all around player who has the ability to score inside and out as well. His biggest contribution will be handling the ball and making good floor decisions. He has the ability to be a great defensive player with his quickness.

Taylor Brubaker
Grade: Junior
Number 20
Height: 5’-10”
Position: Guard

Comments: Taylor has worked very hard on his overall game and enjoyed a nice growth spurt as well. He has developed a nice shooting touch from the outside and will be asked to handle the ball and provide defensive support.
