Pitsburg – December 28, 2004
Versailles was appearing in their sixth championship game in a row at the Jet Tourney. TV battled hard but… in the end the Tigers were too big inside, utilizing a balanced offensive attack they took home their fourth championship in a row.

The Tigers jumped out 5-0 before Daniel Foreman drove the lane for two. Versailles followed that up with 5 more points when Cameron Quinn scored two on a stickback and TV trailed 10-4 at 4:03. Joe Shardo answered with his second long-range trey with Lindamood draped all over him. Corey Jay finally found two inside and now TV trailed 13-6. The Tigers employed a strategy of switching defensive players often to wear down TV post player Jay and the next defender was just as big or bigger than the previous. Corey would find the inside tough going the entire game. The two teams finished out the quarter even with Versailles leading 20-13.

In the second period TV would continue to play hard limiting Versailles leading scorer Shardo touches and shot attempts with Lindamood shadowing him everywhere he went. However the rest of the Tigers stepped up knocking down shots as 5 players scored in the quarter. The Pats were within 29-19 after a Jay jumper with 2:02 but the tigers surged ahead with 5 points to finish the stanza leading 34-19 at the half.

Daniel Foreman opened the third quarter with a trey giving the Tri-Village crowd a glimmer of hope. But Shardo would insert himself into the game answering with two straight baskets and Versailles would extend their lead to 44-28 at the end of three.

The final quarter would be much of the same as Versailles was able to get scoring from five different players again on their way to posting a 59-35 Jet Tourney Championship.

For the games the Tigers out-rebounded the Patriots while sinking 10-12 free throws compared to TV who shot just 2 making both. The Patriots will have another opportunity to try and get it right as they visit Versailles on January 15th for a rematch.

Senior Josh Pipenger gave the Pats a boost toward the end of the game with a fast break lay-up and a trey. Late in the final quarter on a break away lay-up he turned his ankle but hopefully nothing serious.

Corey Jay (42 points and 28 rebounds) and Sam Lindamood both were named to the All Tournament Team.

Tri-Village closes out the 2004 year at 3-6 and will look to start the new year out right after a long lay-off they are back in action in a critical league game against National Trail January 7th.
