The Patriots celebrated Hall of Fame night and the induction of Terri Thommas, Scoob Cook and Kevin Pearson. | INDUCTEE PROFILES |

It was Hall-Of-Fame night and the home team didn’t want to disappoint the current members and new inductees. Sam Lindamood would make sure the celebration was one to remember as he erupted for 34 points and T-V handed Fairlawn a 61-53 loss.

Three new members were inducted into the Hall; Robert “Scoob” Cook a 1991 graduate, Kevin Pearson a 1986 graduate and Terri Thomas a 1981 graduate. To view more on the accomplishments of these inductees please click on the features tab at the top.

Tri-Village opened the game with a 9-0 run before Fairlawn would answer with a free throw at the 5:39 mark. They would then connect on a three-pointer (11 on the night) to make the game 9-4.

Lindamood who already scored 7 of T-V’s 9 points would then score 8 more before the period was over for 15 to give the PATS a 17-12 first quarter lead.

Early in the second period the Pats would score 7 straight five by Mark Wheeler to double up the Jets 24-12. Fairlawn wouldn’t go away using the long ball arsenal they connected for a couple of more to keep close trailing 27-19 at the break.

In the third period Tri-Village would work the ball around a little more trying to establish an inside outside game and when Daniel Foreman scored an old-fashioned-three with a minute to go T-V held a 15 points lead 41-26. T-V ended the third quarter up 41-29.

In the final stanza the Jets tried to force the Patriots into turnovers with a mix of full court pressure and an extended 1-3-1 zone. Fairlawn was able to whittle the lead down to 8 points by the 3 minutes mark 50-42. But Lindamood would score twice and Wheeler once on drives to the basket to bump the lead back to 15 points 57-42 with 1:20 to play.

Fairlawn didn’t quit and made the last minute seem like an eternity sending T-V to the foul line while hitting some treys to make the final game appear closer than the score indicated with T-V getting the win 61-53.

After the game Coach Sagester was happy with his teams play. “I like our overall effort this weekend. Our effort was good Friday night, although we weren’t pleased with the outcome and our effort was good tonight as well which we have struggled with back to back games this year.”

“Fairlawn was a better team then the three wins indicate and Brian Moon really helped keep them in the game. ”Playing against a kid like Moon prepares us for what we will see next Friday in Kyler Booher who is a great scorer and can put it in the hole from anywhere on the floor. We’ll need to work hard and be prepared to play well next week when we travel to Pleasant Hill,” said Coach Sagester.

Sam Lindamood turned in a Hall-of-Fame performance to lead the team tonight with 34 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. “Sam had a great night but a lot of the credit for his performance goes to all our kids. They recognized Sam was hot and they got him the ball. We have some knowledgeable kids playing the game and they recognize their roles and know how to contribute to help our team win,” added Sagester.

Mark Wheeler contributed 13 points, David Barger added 7 rebounds and two blocks shots and Logan Brubaker and Daniel Foreman dished out 5 assists each.

The win moves Tri-Village to 10-5 on the year and 7-1 in conference play. Tri-Village will now travel to Newton next Friday in what is sure to be another highly competitive conference match-up.

Earlier in the day the Patriots received the 4th seed for the Wright State Sectional Tournament. Cedarville garnered the number 1 seed, Yellow Springs earned the 2nd seed and Ridgeville Christian was the 3rd seed. The Patriots will take on Emmanuel Christian on Wednesday February 22nd, 8pm in the Nutter Center at Wright State University.
