Logan Brubaker hit 3 treys on the night for 11 points.

New Madison – Tri-Village High School 12/10/05
The Tri-Village Patriots Boys basketball team got off to a fast start this year winning their first three games while receiving recognition in the Miami Valley with a #1 ranking by the Dayton Daily News for division 1V. Last night they played a very physical game against the Arcanum Trojans winning the all important conference game. It’s always tough to measure the effect such a game has on your team and their endurance. It would be apparent from the start the team was effected as they were a step slow on defense, shots were a bit short, passes not crisp and decision making was poor. The result was a non-conference loss to a Fort Recovery team that was firing on all cylinders in a game that wasn’t close at all.

Fort Recovery scored the opening basket but… Logan Brubaker nailed his first three of the year to get TV a 3-2 lead it would be the only one of the night. A lay-up by the Fort got them the lead back never to relinquish they ended the quarter with a 15-5 advantage.

In the second period the Patriots got scoring from 5 different players including Brubaker’s second trey of the night but the holes in the defense allowed Fort Recovery to win the quarter and a 31-15 halftime lead.

The third quarter was more of the Fort Recovery show it seemed like they got every loose ball and rebound while all their shots were falling. Meanwhile, Tri-Village couldn’t throw it into the ocean.

In the final stanza the highlight was a Sam Lindamood dunk even it wasn’t enough to get the emotions and energy level of the home team going and Fort Recovery took home the 59-35 win handing Tri-Village their first loss of the season. The loss drops Tri-Village to 3-1 on the year.

“I was very disappointed in our team effort tonight, said Coach Josh Sagester. There is no excuse for not playing defense and we just didn’t get after it tonight. We were impatient on offense and we just didn’t play good basketball it just was a good old-fashioned beating. I really hope we get this out of our system and learn from this and I’m glad it was a non-conference game. We are still on pace with our goals at 2-0 in the conference with an important game at Ansonia and I know the Tigers will be hungry. We will have to play our best game to get a victory Friday night.”

Logan Brubaker dropped in 3 treys for 11 points to lead Tri-Village.
