Bradford, Ohio - February 7, 2008
The Tri-Village Patriots traveled to Bradford to take on the Railroaders. As a team Bradford has struggled a bit this year with just 1 win to show for it... but a very young and determined Roader squad gave it their best and in fact led after the first quarter buzzer sounded 14-10. Tyler Greer put 6 points on the board to pace the Patriots in the first quarter.
The Patriots picked up the defensive intensity in the second period and held Bradford to just two points over the next 8 minutes. Three Patriots seniors led the charge in the period with Kendall Stutz netting 5 points and Ryan Buck and David Barger both scoring 4 points each to end the half up 23-16.
The Patriots increased their lead to 15 points in the 3rd quarter with Buck throwing in 6 points and Stutz 4 points. Heath West and Drew Moore both netted 3 points each in the quarter and Tri-Village led 39-24.
In the final stanza the Patriots were led by Senior Tyler Fisherback dropping in 5 points as a host of Patriots scored in the frame on the way to a 52-33 win. The win improved Tri-Village record to 15-5 in the regular season and 8-3 in conference play finishing in 3rd place in the conference. This was the best record for the Patriots since 2000-2001 who finished with an identical regular season mark and finish in conference play.
Tri-Village will now focus their efforts on making a long tournament run with their first game against Cedarville on Saturday February 16th at 1:30pm at Vandalia High School.
