| The Tri-Village Patriots had plenty of exciting moments, including capturing a second straight sectional title (above). |

The 2007-2008 Tri-Village Boys Basketball Team was seconds away from going to the Regional Tournament but fell in double overtime to a stubborn Houston Wildcats team to finish as District Runner-up for the second year in a row ending the season with an 18-6 overall record.
The season wasn’t without disappointments… but overall many highlights would avail.
The Patriots opened the season with an impressive win at Arcanum 60-54 and finished the first weekend 2-0. But a key early season match-up with Twin Valley South would catch the Patriots on the down as the Panthers escaped with a 58-48 win to take an early lead in the conference race. The Pats dropped the next game to Fort Recovery to even their record at 2-2.
The team would rebound as they went on a 6 game win streak taking care of Tri-County North, National Trail, Covington, Versailles, Arcanum and Bethel. The highlight of the streak was back to back one point victories over Versailles in overtime and a second win of the season over Arcanum giving the Patriots a Jet Holiday Tournament championship while running their record to 6-2 overall.
Tri-Village had their win streak cut short by a very hot-shooting St. Henry team… but they would start a new streak running off 5 more victories in a row. Along the way they defeated Ansonia, Mississinawa, Dixie, Fairlawn and Newton. The highlight of the streak was a double overtime win against the #2 State Ranked Division III Team Dixie Greyhounds.
Standing at 13-3 overall and 8-1 in the conference Tri-Village would travel to Miami East looking to move into a tie for the conference lead but a lackluster performance left them a game out as they were unable to pull out a win. The team took another one on the chin against visiting Franklin Monroe dashing any hopes the Patriots had of claming a league crown.
Down but not out the Patriots would string together 5 more victories, starting with senior night… it was an emotionally charge atmosphere with visiting Greenville and a memorable night for the seniors as they sent the Greenwave home in defeat. Tri-Village finished the regular season with a win over Bradford to go 15-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference for a 3rd place finish.
Tri-Village then opened sectional play against Cedarville taking an easy 63-21 win. Their second round foe would be Springfield Central Catholic… a team who chose to take a bye to face the Patriots. TV was up to the challenge sending the Irish home with a 56-39 defeat.
Once again the Patriots found themselves in a sectional championship game taking on a surprise winner over Franklin Monroe the Yellow Springs Bulldogs. It would set-up another magic highlight for the Patriots with a buzzer beater for a 50-48 Sectional Championship win.
For the second consecutive year the Patriots would find themselves matched up in the District finals with the Houston Wildcats. The Patriots played a great game that went back and forth into 2 overtimes… but the magic they had to win numerous close games disappeared along with the District title falling in a heartbreaker 58-57.
However, the magic of the season will live on as the team registered many highlights along the way to an impressive 18-6 record.
Overall this team accomplished something no other teams at Tri-Village had done… back to back Sectional Championships and District Runner-up Titles. The team loses 6 seniors: David Barger, Logan Brubaker, Ryan Buck, Tyler Evans, Tyler Fisherback and Kendall Stutz.
