Ryan Buck had a field day against Tri-County North as they had no answer for the Patriots big man as he dropped 24 points on the night in a cross county conference win.

Lewisburg, OH – 12/7/07

Balanced scoring by the Patriots and plenty of it was enough to hold of a hard charging Tri-County North Panthers team who just wouldn’t go away. Tri-Village was able to get out of town with a 65-59 victory but not before the Panthers let them know they were in a game.

In the opening stanza the Patriots were able to build a 4 point lead going up 16-12 with David Barger and Ryan Buck both netting 6 points while establishing their inside game. Drew Moore and Kendall Stutz also both scored on lay-ups to add to the total.

Tri-County North would surge to open the second quarter going up 19-16 as they scored seven straight to give them their last lead of the night. A free throw by Tyler Greer and two inside goals by Barger earned TV the lead 21-19. Greer would then score another 6 straight points before North would answer. Tri-Village would also get two three-pointers as the half drew to an end from Moore and would take a 35-23 lead at the break.

In the third period the Patriots went inside again with Barger going for two and then Buck scoring the next nine points for the TV. A Stutz three-pointer at 4:30 made it 49-32 a 17 point margin the largest of the night for Tri-Village.

North however wouldn’t fold and they would knock down a barrage of shots drawing within six 51-45. Moore would finish the quarter with a jumper and after three it was TV 53 TCN 45.

In the final stanza TV went to the paint once more as Ryan Buck scored six straight points as TV opened the lead up to 59-45. But over the next 4 minutes the Patriots were content to run with the Panthers going away from the style that got them the lead. North took advantage as they reeled off seven points to get it to 59-52.

With time ticking away North was in the fouling mode and sent Stutz to the line at 1:13 and good on both TV went up 61-52. North nailed a trey and a missed one and one by TV led to another quick TCN basket and with 45 seconds to play they trailed by just four 61-57.

Tri-Village was then able to make 4-6 free throws to preserve the win 65-59 and shake off a pesky Panther team that wouldn’t go away.

North didn’t seem to have an answer to the Patriot big men on the night as Ryan Buck went for 24 and David Barger pitched in 12. Two other TV players hit double digits with Tyler Greer and Drew Moore both adding 10 points each. Kendall Stutz was just shy of putting five Patriots in double figures as he rounded out the scoring with 9 points for TV.

Tri-Village raised their overall record to 3-2 and 2-1 in conference play. They are back in action next Friday at home in a league game in round two verses National Trail.
