The Tri-Village Patriots have been road warriors of late with the Newton Indians the last of 5 straight away games. The Patriots were looking for their 4th straight win and was able to do that tonight in quick order as they outmanned the Indians, a team with little offensive firepower.

In the opening period Tri-Village raced out to a 19-8 lead with Drew Moore knocking down 3 treys and 11 points to lead the way.

The second quarter saw 5 Patriots in the scoring column with Tyler Greer leading the way with 6 points as TV held a 37-22 halftime lead.

In the third stanza the Patriots’ Matt Miller scored 7 of his 15 points on the night and TV held a 52-30 lead.

In the final frame Tri-Village would hold a 30-point lead eventually winning the game over the Indians by a final score of 65-39.

Tri-Village put 3 players in double figures paced by Drew Moore with 22 points, Matt Miller with a career high 15 points and Tyler Greer added 12 points.

Tri-Village runs their record to 12-6 overall with an 8-2 league record going into the tournament draw this weekend.

In other Cross County Conference action Arcanum (a team TV beat by 22 earlier in the year) upset the undefeated Miami East Vikings with a last second shot in overtime setting up a 3-way tie for the top spot in the conference. Miami East, Arcanum and Bethel all sit on top with identical 7-1 conference records with Tri-Village on the outside looking in with 2 conference losses.

Tri-Village is off the road and back in action next Friday taking on a surging Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks team that will be looking to spoil senior night at the Battleground.
