The Patriots kept things rolling against Tri-County North with a 65-40 win.
T-V jumped out to an early 9-0 lead on baskets by Tyler Cook, Matt Werner and Evan Barger before North would answer.
Kyle Pipenger took over for the PATS scoring the next 10 points giving them a 19-11 lead after one period.
In the 2nd quarter the Patriots again went through the motions defensively…but fortunately they were able to put the ball in the hole with Haedon Schlechty, Pipenger, Barger and Cook all scoring for T-V to take a 34-22 halftime lead.
In the third frame the bigs took over as Cook and Barger had their way inside with Tri-Village to hold a 48-33 advantage.
In the final stanza the Patriots coasted to the easy league win by the score of 65-40.
“We were a little sluggish tonight,” said coach Josh Sagester. “I was disappointed we didn’t play better defense, I know it was our 4th game in less than a week but that shouldn’t be an excuse.”
“Kyle Pipenger is playing real good basketball and tonight showed once again why he is so special,” added Sagester.
“Evan Barger really brought the energy to the floor tonight, that is something we didn’t get out of our other guys tonight…it was a difference maker,” concluded Sagester.
Kyle Pipenger paced the Patriots with 22 points, while Evan Barger recorded a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Cook scored 13 with 8 rebounds while Shade Brubaker and Matt Werner each dished out 3 assist.
The junior varsity coasted to a 63-21 win with 3 players in double figures, Colton Linkous 21, Ryian Burson 13 and Mason McCabe had 11.
Tri-Village is back in action on Monday, December 26th for the Jet Holiday Tournament. JV game starts at 1pm while the varsity will play at 6pm.
