New Madison – The undefeated Tri-Village Patriots put on a dynamic scoring seminar Friday, blitzing Tri-County North 133-44 in a Cross County Conference boy’s basketball game.

“They are state contenders,” said North coach Greg Place, “They totally outmatched us. They were quicker, better shooters, and simply a better ball club.”

“We ran the floor well tonight. My kids made good decisions on our passes, and we shot the ball well,” said Lee Falknor, coach of the 4-0 Patriots, who play at Versailles tonight.

Tri-Village is now averaging 94.2 points per game. The words, “Shane Bietry steal… Nate Lindamood for three… Lee Brandon for two… Scoob Cook for a dunk”, echoed throughout the Tri-Village gymnasium the entire night.

The Patriots did not allow North to get off a shot for the first four minutes. This combined with Lindamood’s three 3-pointers, enabled Tri-Village to jump out 20-0.

The first half was hard to describe. Was Tri-Village playing baseball or basketball?
The Patriot big men would get the rebound and then release a baseball-like throw to the other end of the floor into an awaiting guard’s hands.

The Patriots continued to fast break in the second quarter and ended the first half ahead, 75-20.

Patriot fans were awaiting an even better second half. But to everyone’s surprise the Patriots played a controlled offense, putting aside their fast-break attack.

Falknor released his entire bench to finish out the game. The victory for the Patriots was a scoring record for the year-old gymnasium.

Tri-Village shot 60 percent from the floor and connected on 10 three-pointers, with scoring honors going to Lee Brandon 27 points, Lindamood 22 and Scoob Cook 20.

Bietry and Dirk Lewis combined for 27 assists while Brandon pulled down 15 rebounds. Tri-Village outrebounded the Panthers 62-19.
