Tri-Village is a small rural school district in Southwest Darke County which extends south to the Preble county line and west to the Indiana border and includes three communities; Palestine, Hollansburg and New Madison.

Each community boasted a rich tradition of their own in basketball.  This tradition continues today as one program with the Tri-Village Patriots due to consolidation in 1972-73 of the three school districts.

Tri-Village is a member of the Cross County Conference formed in 1978-79. Original teams included Ansonia, Arcanum, Bethel, Bradford, Franklin Monroe, National Trail, Newton, Mississinawa Valley, Preble Shawnee, Tri-Village, Twin Valley North (now Tri County North) and Twin Valley South. In 1984 Preble Shawnee left the conference and was replaced by Covington in 1990-91. Miami East was added to the conference in 2006-07 making the conference 13 schools.

Since joining the conference in 1978 the Tri-Village Patriots have won (or shared) Six conference championships all coached by Lee Falknor in 1981, 1990, 1991, 2000, 2002 and 2003. The Patriots are tied with Bethel with the most conference titles with six each.

The Tri-Village Patriots 1990-91 team finished 20 - 0 for the second straight season and advanced to the State Championship before falling to St. Henry.

In their tournament run they defeated Bethel, Southeastern, Mississinawa Valley, Houston, Ft. Loramie, Cincinnati Lockland, Columbus Werhle and eventually finished as State Runnerup with a 27-1 record.

Tri-Village has had 7 coaches in school history, with Lee Falknor recording more wins then any other coach at 248 wins. He retired after the 2003-04 season in which the Patriots finished with a 12-10 record.
