January 29, 2004 - New Madison
It was senior night and what a night it was for the three senior's Samantha Coomer, Sara Burkhart and Mattie Burns. Looking to avenge a one point loss early in the season at National Trail the three appeared to enjoy the moment playing inspired basketball. Coomer led the way with 22 points, 10 rebounds with Burns chipping in 8 points, 3 assists and Sara Burkhart added 5 points with 3 assists a 73-50 victory.
The league win keeps the Patriots tied with Franklin Monroe at 7-1 in the Cross County Conference a game behind leader Covington at 8-0.

"These are three quality individuals and it's been fun to have Sam and Mattie for four years and Sara three, said Coach Jim Maples. I'm sure there were times maybe they didn't like me very well... but they stuck it out and have made solid contributions to our program. I've really enjoyed coaching them. What a great way for them to go out, it's only memorable when you win and for our seniors to be at the top of the conference with a chance to share the crown is very rewarding. We have Mississinawa Valley yet to play, we won't be looking past them... and then conference front runner Covington after that", concluded Maples.
To the seniors your past accomplishments indicates a bright future for whatever you put your mind to doing. Good luck the rest of the season. Go Lady Patriots!
