New Madison 12/28/04
The Tri-County North Panthers paid New Madison a visit in a league match-up. On this night though they would be no match for the host team as they would go on to post an easy 53-33 conference win.
TV jumped out early to a 17-5 lead in the first period behind Dill & Deaton. Karli Dill would provide the outside shooting netting 2 treys and 7 points. Heather Deaton provided the inside power with 3 fielders including one at the buzzer while Brennan Moore and Tina Allison both added a goal.
In the second quarter the Patriots would get scoring from 5 players many off offensive rebounds. Tina Allison had 6 points; Olivia Frazier and Kaley Stahl each had 4 with both getting two off stick backs from missed free throws. Dill dropped another bomb and Deaton added a free throw and TV led at the half 35-18.
The pace of the game slowed considerably in the third period with both teams playing even and Tri-Village led 42-22. The twenty-point lead would stand up for the game as the Lady Patriots went on to a 53-33 victory.
Coach Maples cleared his bench allowing his reserve team members the opportunity to get some varsity action. Brittney Bailey got a bucket inside while Freshmen Addie Overfield hit a jumper and with the exception of Mary Skidmore all Patriots got in the scoring column.
Again Tri-Village struggled at the free throw line going 4-23 for the game and although it had no bearing on this game it will be critical to improve in this area with big conference games coming up early next year. The Pats travel to Arcanum on January 5th needing a victory to stay in contention for a CCC crown.
