Brookville Brookville High School 1/25/06
The Patriots were looking to get back to their winning ways and Tina Allison got T-V on the board first with two inside. Two minutes later Tina would pick up her second foul and have to sit for the rest of the quarter.
With Tina on the bench Brookville scored 14 straight points before Kassie Fisherback scored two points on a drive at 1:50. The Devils responded with another run this time scoring 8 more points to close the quarter with a 22-4 lead.
The Patriots appeared to be mired in quicksand with very little movement on the offensive end. Brookville also took advantage of T-V’s lack of ball handling converting turnovers into some easy baskets.
When the buzzer sounded to start the second quarter it didn’t appear to wake up the sleeping PATS and Brookville continued to run the floor taking a 34-10 half-time lead.
When the buzzer sounded for the third quarter to start the Patriots were still in the locker room and they had to be summoned to the court to play basketball. The extra time spent by Coach Maples appeared to help jump-start the team as they came out with a little more energy.
The team moved with a purpose; cuts were sharp, screens more solid and better ball movement resulted in five straight points. The defense was a bit more aggressive and held Brookville scoreless until the 2:38. But Brookville would get a couple steals at the end the quarter to go up 40-17.
Although T-V played Brookville even in the second half the deficit created in the opening quarter was too much to overcome and Brookville took home the victory 56-31.
Brookville ran their record to 7-7 while T-V dropped to 8-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
The Patriots continue to mire in a mid season slump dropping their 4th game in their last five tries. No time to rest as they travel Thursday to take on the Lady Railroaders from Bradford in Cross County Conference action.
Tina Allison led the Patriots despite foul trouble with 14 points and Kaley Stahl pulled down 9 rebounds.
On a positive not the Lady Patriots received the 4th seed in the Tipp City Sectional behind first seed Covington, second seed Franklin Monroe and 3rd seed was Troy Christian.
T-V will take on Yellow Springs in tournament play on Wednesday February 15 at 8pm.
