The 2005 – 2006 Lady Patriots finished the season with 11 wins and 10 losses. The season ended in a very hard fought two-point loss to a tough Yellow Springs team in tournament action.

The season was highlighted when the Lady Patriots crossed over the border to take on a highly ranked and touted Indiana team from Randolph Southern Lady Rebels. Trailing by 11 points in the fourth quarter the team fought back and nailed a last second shot stunning the home team with a 56-55 victory.

Midway through the season the Patriots owned an 8-3 record but fell on hard times in the second half of the season dropping 7 of 10 games as they struggled handling the basketball and fell victim to teams who applied lots of pressure.

Graduating is three-year starter Karli Dill who averaged 11.3 points per game. She leaves as the fifth best shooter from behind the arch at 32.3%.

Also graduating is Krystal Barton and Brittney Bailey who both played their roles. Brittney’s highlight was the last second shot against Randolph Southern. Krystal peaked on senior night pouring in 10 points for her career high verses National Trail.

These seniors will be missed and can be proud of continuing the winning tradition at Tri-Village.

The 2005-06 season also marks the end of an era for Coach Jim Maples who retired after 14 years as the girls varsity head coach. His reign garnered 3 cross county conference championships, 198 wins and 114 losses, the most wins of any coach in Tri-Village history.
