Tina Allison scored 12 points pulled down 9 rebounds and recorded 5 blocked shots but it wasn't enough as Bees stung the PATS 42-30.

New Madison Ohio 11/30/06

Tri-Village Lady Patriots opened conference play tonight hosting the Bethel Bees. Kaley Stahl would get the home team off to a good start with consecutive baskets inside. Meanwhile the halfcourt defense was giving the Bees fits and they wouldn't score until the 5:32 mark on a free throw.

The Bees employed a 2-2-1 full court press that would give the Patriots fits. The next score for the Tri-Village came off a short corner shot from Kaila Burns when they beat the press to go up 6-3 at 3:07.

The Patriots were held scoreless for for the rest of the quarter as the Bees capitilized off turnovers and with 10 seconds to play in the quarter they would take the lead for the first time 7-6.

In the second period the two teams would battle back and forth and when Amelia Frazier drove the lane for two the Patriots pulled to within a point 13-12.

Then an already beleagured back court had another player go down when Kaila Burns turned her ankle and she wouldn't return to the game.

To add salt to the wound Bethel fired in two straight trey's to vault ahead 19-12 at the half.

In the third quarter it looked like the Patriots were going to make a game of it when Allison scored two inside and Jordyn Fisherback two outside to make it 19-16.

But the constant Bee pressure nullified their attempt as Bethel would finish out the quarter with a 30-20 lead.

In the final stanza the PATS made another charge again behind Stahl and Allison on back-to-back baskets inside. Another Allison goal at 4:25 got the PATS to within five points 31-26.

The stinging Bethel defense would eventually put them in foul trouble and they would send the Patriots to the free throw line. But cold shooting from the charity stripe allowed by the Patriots allowed the Bees to roll on for a 42-30 conference win.

For the game the Lady Patriots were just 6-of-19 from the line. The Bees would knock down 7-for-12. The combination of of missed free throws and turnovers by the Patriots proved to be the difference in the game.

Tina Allison scored 12 points, pulled down 9 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. Kaley Stahl also scored in double figures with 10 points. Erin Bundy led the team with 5 assists.

The loss drops the Patriots to 1-2 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. They are back in action Saturday at home against National Trail.
