The Brookville Lady Blue Devils were in town to take on host Tri-Village. Brookville has been playing inspired basketball coming off an impressive win against the state ranked Oakwood Jills… a team they lost to earlier in the season.
In the first period it was a tight ball game with both teams playing solid defense. Joy Maxiel presented early problems inside for Tri-Village as she scored the first 6 points for Brookville.
Kaley Stahl kept the home team close as she scored 8 of her game high 17 points in the period. A late surge by Brookville allowed them to open up a 13-9 first quarter advantage.
Tina Allison scored inside early on in the second period to make it 13-11… but then the Blue Devils went on a 9-0 run… primarily off three straight turnovers to go up 22-11.
Kaley Stahl broke the T-V scoring drought with a free throw but the Patriots then traded baskets the rest of the half good enough for Brookville to hold a 26-14 lead.
In the third period the quicker Blue Devils continued to create havoc with their defense and T-V struggled to get into any type of offense. When they did Tina Allison was able to score inside as she netted 8 points in the quarter but TV trailed 39-24.
In the final stanza Kaley Stahl was able to score in a number of ways, off a rebound, a steal, a fast break doing most of the damage for T-V as she dropped in 8 points again to match her first period production.
But the deficit created in the second and third quarters was difficult to overcome and Brookville was able to skip town with an easy 54-35 non-conference win.
Kaley Stahl paced TV tonight with 17 points; Tina Allison added 12, while only two other TV players scored in the game Jordyn Fisherback with 5 and Shawnda Stamps 1.
Game high scoring honors went to Brookville’s Joy Maxiel with 18 points.
Tri-Village is back in Thursday taking on conference foe the Lady Newton Indians.
