Tri-Village makes the trip to Miami County on the heels of a huge victory at DIII Brookville to face the Newton Lady Indians. The question is; would the Lady Pat’s be able to “get up” for this game coming off an emotional, hard fought game.

Tri-Village gives their answer early as they jump on Newton with an aggressive man defense and a full court press. TV puts the first fifteen clicks on the scoreboard as Newton struggles to get anything going. All five of the TV starters as well as Hillarie Frech off of the bench take part in the scoring. Stewart and Cain put up five for the Lady Indians and the first period score is 19-5.

The Lady Patriots seem to lose some of their intensity in the second quarter and for a while Newton seems to pick it up. Newton scores six of the first eight in the quarter putting back offensive boards and driving aggressively. The Pat’s recover however, and extend the lead to eighteen as the two teams head to their locker rooms with a 29-11 score.

Tri-Village maintains control of the game in the second half as they continue to push the ball on offense and play aggressive defense. The last three minutes of the game showed promise of a strong future for the Pat’s as four sophomores and a freshman finished the game. Chelsea Royer, Brittani and Bre Abney all added to the Pat’s scoring while playing strong defense alongside Hillarie Frech and Kylie Thomas. The scoreboard showed 53-22 Tri-Village as the final horn sounded.

The Lady Patriots are idle until the Union City Lady Indians come to the Battleground for an afternoon contest next Saturday. This is the first of a three game home stand to complete the regular season.
