New Madison, Ohio – January 14, 2010

The Tri-Village Patriots was coming off an easy win on Tuesday night against Preble Shawnee. After an easy game a team can get complacent and lack intensity in their next game. TV wanted to make sure they didn’t take Arcanum in a league game for granted and used an aggressive defense to jump-start the team.

They PATS were successful creating turnovers and easy scores. They also showed patience in the half court and knocked down the open jump shots on their way to a 15-2 first quarter lead.

Shaye Thomas led the Patriots knocking down a couple of 15’ jumpers along with a couple drives inside for 8 points to lead in the quarter.

The Patriots then shut out the Trojans in the second period while scoring 14 more points for a 29-2 halftime lead.

In the third frame the Patriots ran their lead to 41-2 on a Kylie Thomas feed to KJ Linkous for a basket and foul. Arcanum would finally score with 3:20 to go ending a 17-minute run without a basket. The Trojans scored two more times the last on an Amanda Falknor trey to end the quarter trailing 43-8.

In the final stanza reserve player Hallie Mikesell would drain (3) three-pointers and score 11 points on her way to game high scoring honors with 13 points. Tri-Village had eight players get in the scoring column in an easy 58-17 win.

With the win Tri-Village goes to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the conference. They will be back in action next Thursday 1/21/10 at home against the Railroaders of Bradford.
