Freshman Ecko Brown became the stopper with her defense that helped stall the Lady Blazers offense allowing the Pats to take conrol of the game that they eventually won 52-33.

12/3/11 – Gettysburg, Ohio

Tri-Village traveled to National Trail in the annual double-header, which saw all 4 girls, and boys JV and Varsity teams come out victorious.

The girls Varsity team found themselves in a good old-fashioned donny brook as both teams came out swinging.

Even though the Lady Patriots scored 20 points in the opening frame they only led 20-18.

Kayla Linkous led the way with 14 points but the Trailblazers answered with good outside shooting with Makayla Abner scoring 3 of the 4 treys Trail connected on to stay close.

In the 2nd quarter Tri-Village answered the bell by switching up defense inserting freshman Ecko Brown into the game. Brown was assigned to guard Abner and effectively denied the sharp shooting playmaker touches. Trail struggled to get good looks at the basket and TV won the second round building up a 33-22 lead at the half.

If the Patriots thought Trail was out for the count they were wrong as they came out swinging after applying more aggressive defense holding the Pats to a season low 6 points in a quarter. The Blazers scored 9 to close the lead to 39-23.

After a blow the Lady Pats showed no mercy in the final round eventually winning by a TKO almost holding the Blazers scoreless until the final minute of play. Tri-Village went on to a claim a 52-33 conference win.

Kayla Linkous led tri-Village with 29 points while Krystal Falknor chipped in 9 for the win.

The Junior Varsity also won by a large margin as well to go 4-0 and 1-0 as well.

The Lady Patriots are back in action on Tuesday night traveling to Houston to take on the Wildcats in non-conference play.
