12/28/11 New Madison, Ohio
The National Trail Lady Blazers were the unfortunate whipping dogs of The Tri-Village Patriots fresh off a heartbreaking loss to Miami East.
In the previous matchup between the two teams the first half was a closely played contest…but the PATS relentess full court pressure helped bolster a 23-11 first quarter lead taking the Blazers out of contention from the start.
Tri-Village continued to build their lead in the 2nd frame eventually claiming a 42-22 halftime advantage.
National Trail couldn’t make up ground in the second half despite the Patriots lack of focus defensively…mainly due to the Blazers being unable to stop Kayla Linkous inside.
Linkous dominated the interior, scoring 39 points as Tri-Village rolled to a 71-49 non-conference win.
Lexie Bruner was a bright spot for the Patriots giving a little spark on the offensive end of the floor scoring 10 points on the night.
The Patriots will be take a short break and be back in CCC action on Thursday January 5th hosting Tri-County North.
